Davie Allan and The Arrows “Apache ’65”

Pacific Coast Highway, summer of 1965. Top down, hair in the breeze and you against the world.

That’s where “Apache ’65” by Davie Allan and The Arrows will transport you to. This surf/garage rock album is the epitome of its genre, with swooning guitars and melodies that will make you want to tune up your deuce coupe as much as do the twist on the beach with some righteous cats and dolls. Without any accompanying vocals, you are able to fully absorb the sounds and soul of a generation engulfed in free love and engine exhaust.

Lori Hardworth

Lori is a native New Yorker with a chip on her shoulder who found it as hard, as it was easy, to embrace the west coast culture and vibe. Three years and many trips to Whole Foods later, she is working in the film industry (Hollywood, babe!) and is happily in love with Eric and their new home. As an evolved punk/ska kid, Lori embraces a compassionate lifestyle complete with a thick Long Island accent. She enjoys cooking for others, eating snacks, being in nature and making South Park references wherever possible.
